Autumn 2026We are hereNowthe movement starts
Women step forward
- Women in Vienna and far beyond sign up as founding members.
- Period, our non-profit association, is founded in Vienna, so that women keep control of their samples.
- Our first study goes to an independent ethics committee.
-
2027–2028Next200women · 12 months · every period
A year of periods, in detail
- 200 women in Vienna share a small sample from every period for a whole year.
- We learn what dried and liquid period blood can each reveal, and set a first baseline.
- We publish what we find, and the women who took part hear it first.
-
2029–2031Then2,000women · 5+ cities
From Vienna to five cities
- Partner labs in five or more cities bring the study closer to more women.
- 2,000 women, ready to take part in new research on the conditions that matter most to them.
- Research teams apply to work with the samples, and the women have a say in every study.
-
2031 and beyondOur vision5,000+women · followed over years
The world’s largest menstrual biobank
- Samples every quarter, so research can follow women over years, not just one moment.
- How the cycle changes with age, illness and treatment, finally visible in the data.
- Researchers and companies, including pharma, can apply for access on terms decided with the women who give.
Where it all leads
Our daughters grow up in a world where medicine knows their bodies.
What sets the pace
Ethics approval. An independent ethics committee must approve every study before any woman takes part.
Funding. We are applying for public research and innovation funding. Nothing has been granted yet.
Partners. We need a lab, clinics and pharmacies in Vienna. None is confirmed yet, and we will name them only once they agree.
You’ll hear from us at every step.
If you asked for updates, you get an e-mail each time we move on the roadmap, including when something takes longer than planned.
